During the week of January 13 – 17, our Career Services department invited guest speakers, alumni and employers to speak to students in their classrooms. One such speaker was Amanda S. who graduated from Charter College last spring in 2013. Since then, she has worked as a massage therapist for a chiropractic office and for Massage Envy Spa.
Lisa was enrolled and graduated in the Medical Assistant program, worked at an urgent care center and is now back at Charter College working on an associate degree.
Before Charter College, Joshua H. was a general laborer who wanted a career where he could better support his family. After graduating from the Certificate in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at Charter College, he found a job with a local company and is now an installer and service technician.
At our Oxnard campus Open House, we caught up with one of our recent graduates who is now working in her field. Amber had graduated from the Health Information Technology (HIT) program in July and is now working for an Ear, Nose and Throat medical clinic.
Ciarra C. graduated from the Certificate in Medical Assistant program at Charter College and is now enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Allied Health program. Ciarra is a military wife with two young children and talks about why she came back to school and her plans for the future.
Before coming to Charter College and enrolling the Certificate in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) program, Luke E. did a lot of restaurant work. “I did everything from being a dishwasher to a line cook. I then worked for a warehouse pulling orders.
